Golden elixir with turmeric, ginger and cinnamon
A warm infusion of 59 kcal per serving, with no added sugar. Four ingredients and macros calculated from USDA data, including which spices are not counted and why.
This page changed, and it is worth explaining. The previous version was titled “Golden Elixir with Turmeric, Collagen Peptides and Botanical Nectar” and listed a collagen supplement among the ingredients. We removed it: a recipe is food, and a supplement is not an infusion ingredient. What remains is a 59 kcal spice drink per serving, with its composition published. If a professional prescribed you collagen, take it as instructed, not inside a recipe.

- 5 g freshly grated ginger (a 2 cm piece)

- Sweetener to taste, optional (monk fruit or extra cinnamon)
Nutritional Information (per serving)
Step-by-Step Instructions
Warm the base
Almond milk and coconut oil over gentle heat until it steams. Never to the boil: the spice aroma is lost.
Bring in the turmeric
Add the turmeric and stir. Curcumin is fat-soluble: that is why the spice emulsifies into the fat instead of sitting on the surface.
Ginger and pepper
Add the grated ginger and black pepper and keep 3 to 4 minutes over the lowest heat, without letting it boil.
Strain if you like
Strain for a cleaner texture. Unstrained, it has more body and the ginger keeps coming through.
Finish
Serve with the cinnamon dusted on top. For sweetness, sweeten in the cup, not the pot: that way each serving is to taste.

Discover more about this recipe
Turmeric
Its most studied compound is curcumin, and one physical fact explains this recipe: it is fat-soluble, not water-soluble. That is why turmeric blends into a drink with fat, and not into plain water.
Black pepper
Its pungent compound, piperine, provides the aromatic counterpoint to turmeric. A pinch is enough and it is not counted in the table: under 5 kcal per serving.
Coconut oil
Two and a half grams per serving bring 22 kcal and are the drink's fat phase. Without it, the turmeric settles at the bottom of the cup.
Ceylon cinnamon
More delicate than cassia and the variety we recommend for frequent use because its coumarin content is far lower. Under 5 kcal per serving: it is not in the table.
